January 3, 2011 — The MicroDose mammography system has received a Product Quality Leadership, Women's Health Imaging Europe 2010 Award from Frost & Sullivan. The award is based on evaluations in several areas, including product performance, reliability and design.
Sectra MicroDose mammography is based on photon counting technology and generates a low dose of radiation. MicroDose mammography has been installed at numerous hospitals and clinics in 17 European countries, as well as in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
The system is pending FDA approval.
