November 24, 2010 – A new advanced visualization and analysis software suite has passed a detailed evaluation and testing process and is now available for sale. The Vitrea Enterprise Suite version 6.0, from Vital Images, has achieved VMware Ready status and is now listed on the VMware Partner Product Catalog.

Version 6.0 provides in-depth clinical functionality via a modular architecture that delivers optimal performance and thin-client access to applications and image data.

Passing the extensive testing helps ensure that it makes best use of the company’s technology and is ready for deployment in customer environments.

“We are pleased that Vital Images qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and is ready to run their mission-critical business applications and operations,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.

The platform separates rendering, processing and data storage to deliver sustained quality of service for clinicians regardless of the number of simultaneous users or data load. For IT departments, the platform cost-effectively scales to meet the specific imaging needs of the healthcare institution.

New clinical features extend multi-modality and oncology capabilities by introducing Dynamic MR, XA 3-D Angio and Oncology Fusion, which allows users to visualize, quantify and track tumors using fused CT, MR, PET and SPECT images. A new de-noising filter also allows users to toggle between pre- and post-filtered images “on the fly” for improved diagnostic confidence. Dynamic MR has been approved in Europe and Canada.

It also includes a new multichamber cardiovascular solution, which enables comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular function and structures for adults and pediatrics. The endovascular stent planning application has been enhanced, adding thoracic aortic aneurism (TAA) to abdominal aortic aneurism (AAA) capabilities. The existing clinical applications, user interface and automated workflows have also been enhanced to speed diagnosis, communication and collaboration for efficient, informed decision making.
