November 16, 2010 – A cloud-based radiology file-sharing system is expanding into the European market. The system, by eMix, will enter the market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The company will also demonstrate new features for both its electronic medical record (EMR) delivery system and cloud-based radiology system. One new medical information exchange feature is the ability for physicians to receive reports automatically. Additionally, users can upload an exam and address it with one click via the auto-upload and auto-address feature.

"eMix has been a valuable addition for us. It's an easy-to-use solution to the problem of how to move images and reports around," said Katherine Leslie, BS, RDMS, CRA, RT(R)(CT) and imaging services director at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska.

The company is expanding into Europe via a partnership with DFC Systems, based in Munich. Earlier this year, the company became eMix’s first European distributor. In connection with the expansion, eMix has added a German language section to its website.

eMix enables secure image and report sharing among disparate institutions and physicians via the Internet. The vendor-neutral technology eliminates the need for facilities to burn CDs, print films or fax reports. Because it is a cloud-based, hosted service, users do not need to purchase or maintain any additional hardware or software.

eMix is a new business venture incubated by DR Systems.
