November 7, 2010 — Strong sales and positive customer feedback have been reported for a retrofit kit that converts systems to wireless digital radiography (DR). Carestream Health reported good response to its DRX-Mobile retrofit Kit, which quickly and affordably upgrades mobile X-ray systems to help enhance care for seriously ill or injured patients.

The kit’s wireless DR detector offers clinicians immediate access to images used for diagnosis and verification of tube and line placements for patients in emergency rooms, operating rooms and the ICU. Carestream Health is the only company with software that uses a single exposure to display an enhanced companion image with more precise visualization of lines and tubes. It is also the only company whose wireless detector can be used with a mobile system and then moved to room-based imaging systems to meet workflow demands throughout the facility.

U.S. healthcare providers that recently ordered the DRX-Mobile retrofit kit include: Carolinas Health Systems, Charlotte, N.C.; Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio; Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio; Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital, Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kan.

The optional tube and line visualization feature is available with all DRX systems and both DRX-1 and DRX-1C detectors. The retrofit kit can be integrated with GE AMX-4, GE AMX-4 Plus, Siemens Mobilett Plus, Siemens Mobilett XP, Siemens Mobilett XP Hybrid, Shimadzu MobileArt, Shimadzu MobileArt Plus and Shimadzu Evolution.
