July 9, 2010 – Members of the Premier Healthcare alliance, a major U.S. health care group purchasing organization, can now order the Carestream DRX-1 System from Carestream Health through a specially negotiated agreement with Premier Purchasing Partners LP.
This wireless digital radiography system was added to the Premier portfolio through its Technology Breakthroughs program, which improves Premier hospitals’ access to products deemed to be significant technological advancements. The DRX-1 system was one of only 23 medical innovations showcased at Premier’s 2nd annual Innovation Celebration in June.
The DRX-1 system features a cassette-size wireless DR detector that fits into an existing table or wall stand Bucky with no equipment modifications and transmits images over a wireless network connection. It enables cost-effective conversion from film or CR imaging systems to highly productive DR technology—without replacing X-ray systems or renovating exam rooms.
