Bycast will be showcasing its StorageGRID storage virtualization software that enables healthcare digital archives and enterprise storage clouds. For healthcare organizations whose business depends on access to mission-critical data and images, Bycast protects and preserves those digital assets over their lifetime.

StorageGRID software turns multiple storage devices, located across geographically dispersed locations, into a single pool of storage for storing fixed content data, such as patient images and records. The storage devices may be from multiple vendors and can range from high performance disk to tape. StorageGRID runs on industry standard servers and provides a virtualization layer that sits between applications and the underlying storage hardware.

Bycast has hundreds of healthcare installations in over 20 countries worldwide and manages over 60 million imaging studies. StorageGRID software is sold directly by Bycast and is made available through various channels including OEM relationships with two of the world’s largest storage vendors. StorageGRID software supports heterogeneous hardware including HP, IBM, and Dell server platforms, plus HP, IBM, EMC, Dell, NetApps, tape and optical storage platforms. Furthermore, the software is complementary with all leading PACS, such as AGFA, Fuji, GE, McKesson, Philips and Siemens.
