May 15, 2009 - InSite One Inc. and NDMA announced today the transition of NDMA clients who have leveraged NDMA technology for long-term management of imaging in women’s health to InSite One’s InDex services.

Initial sites include: Columbia Presbyterian Eastside Radiology; Derry Imaging; ABC Imaging; Gwinett Clinic; and, Victory Breast Diagnostics & Women’s Imaging.

Women’s imaging, more specifically breast imaging, faces tremendous cost and technology challenges for the retention and access over the long-term to meet regulatory compliance and clinical requirements. While digital mammography exams can range from 60-120 MBs per study, emerging techniques for tomosynthesis can more than double these data sizes. Moreover, breast MR can exceed 800 MBs per exam. Combining these diagnostic tests with interventional guided imaging can amass large data sets associated with any particular imaging exam. Subsequent access to portions of this data is required for comparison upon annual recall of patients.

“The transition of NDMA sites has been a cooperative effort between our organizations in order to address the timelines and continuous access to data required to ease the transition of the sites to InSite One solutions”, commented Mitchell Goldburgh, senior vice president of InSite One. “Our joint customer service teams have worked closely on challenges and technical solutions to ensure that workflow needs have been met for each of these unique customer sites.”

With over 10,000 locations providing imaging for woman’s’ health, the capabilities for the unique management of this imaging data varies greatly. The workflow and presentation of data sets are often best served by mammography vendors’ specific workstations outside of the classic PACS. Solutions that offer DICOM management of the data as a service eliminates the costly overhead of data management from these clinical environments.
