April 29, 2009 - AMICAS announced today that it will partner with Health Ventures to provide its hospitals with AMICAS PACS, AMICAS Reach, and AMICAS RadStream solutions.

Health Ventures LLC (HV), located in Ames, IA, is a joint venture between McFarland Clinic PC and Mary Greeley Medical Center. McFarland Clinic, central Iowa’s largest physician-owned multi-specialty clinic, serves residents in 11 Iowa communities, with an additional 12 communities served by physician outreach clinics. Mary Greeley Medical Center, a 220-bed regional referral center based in Ames, provides its patients with the kind of high quality, compassionate care and services usually reserved for major metropolitan areas.

"We are excited about taking our practice to the next level with AMICAS," said Doug Patterson, chief information officer at McFarland Clinic. “AMICAS provides exactly the right focus on workflow management – this very focus will allow our practice to improve our efficiency.”

“We are excited about welcoming Health Ventures, a strong player in central Iowa, to the AMICAS family,” said Stephen Kahane, president, chief executive officer, and chairman of AMICAS.

AMICAS PACS is designed to improve radiologist productivity, while enabling improvements in the quality of care. AMICAS Reach is configured to allow radiology practices and departments to provide service to referring physicians. AMICAS RadStream is said to reduce medical-legal risk by automating and documenting critical results communications.
