April 17, 2009 - National Interest Security Company (NISC) and InSite One have created a partnership to extend InSite One products and services to healthcare facilities in the federal market.
Healthcare facilities in the federal market include DoD, VA, and other government agencies, and are challenged by expansive data growth and overwhelming data-management challenges in their secure data centers. As a result of security qualification and compliance requirements, and without tremendous investment in personnel, technology adoption and physical data-center expansion, these Federal entities are unable to leverage the rapidly advancing technology used to lower operating costs and expand interoperability.
The joint offerings of NISC and InSite One will create a new level of service that can be rapidly adopted by customers, without the internal investment in personnel or technical infrastructure, by placing InSite One technology within an already validated NISC secure data-center facility. InSite One has been a qualified GSA contractor since 2005 (GSA# GS-35F-0496R).
According to Steve Eberly, vice president of NISC’s Healthcare Sector, “This partnership will allow us to provide our federal clientele with a world-class data-management solution that is ‘content aware’ thus enabling multiple agencies across disparate geographic areas to share healthcare data intelligently and to be assured of security and data integrity.”
Utilizing robust data-center capabilities that reside on a NAVSEA Government-Owned, Contractor-Operated (GOCO) facility just south of Cumberland, Maryland, NISC is able to host the electronic records produced by our digitization work, as well as various applications. This data center provides a highly secured environment rich in redundant high-volume communications and power, and is located outside the 100-mile arc of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Being on a GOCO, NISC's customers are assured that government data will remain on government property, alleviating many data-privacy and physical-security concerns. For these reasons and others, many of our customers also look to NISC to provide a continuity of operations plan and disaster-recovery solutions for their existing computing operations.
