July 7, 2008 – Sectra penned a deal with SERGAS, a healthcare service provider of the Galicia region in the northwest of Spain, to install PACS at five of the region’s public hospitals, combining Sectra PACS products and services and Sectra’s productivity suite for radiology departments.
Sectra PACS (for handling radiology images) will serve in a totally integrated radiology solution incorporated into the hospitals’ existing IT infrastructure. Digitizing imaging operations will increase workflow efficiencies and provide radiologists with instant access to images and information regardless of location. The hospitals will be able to exchange data and share workload in a completely secure way reportedly without compromising patient integrity.
Sectra PACS features an optional integrated 3D rendering tool, facilitating diagnostic through overview of data and visualizes results to the referring physician. In addition, an image-handling model enables radiologists to start working with the images quickly regardless of the size of the dataset.
