May 29, 2008 - James H. Thrall, M.D., FACR, of Boston, MA, was named chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Board of Chancellors during the ACR’s 85th Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., May 17-21, 2008, also serving on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).

As immediate past chair of the ACR Commission on Molecular Imaging, chair of the RADPAC board, member of the ACR Web site Advisory Committee and the ACR Foundation, Dr. Thrall is also a fellow of the ACR, radiologist-in-chief at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor of radiology at Harvard Medical Center in Boston.

The college also names John A. Patti, M.D., FACR, of Lynnfield, MA, vice chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors. He is the immediate past chair of the ACR Commission on Economics and ACR Audit Committee, current chair of the ACR Task Force on Value Added and vice chair of the ACR Commission on Government Relations, incoming chair of the RADPAC Political Action Committee and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).

Arl Van Moore Jr., M.D., FACR, of Charlotte, NC, has been elected president of the ACR. He is the immediate past chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, and serves as chair of the ACR delegation to the American Medical Association, chair of the ACR Task Force on International Teleradiology, chair of the ACR Task Force on Disaster Preparedness, vice chair of the RADPAC Political Action Committee board and as vice chair of the ACR advisory committee on diagnostic imaging policy.

N. Reed Dunnick, M.D., FACR, of Ann Arbor, MI, has been elected vice president of the ACR. Dr. Dunnick is the immediate past chair of the ACR Commission on Body Imaging, is a member of the ACR Committee on Fellowship Credentials, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
