December 7, 2007 - Candelis, Inc. has gained new PACS partners that include five leading regional hospitals, all using the ImageGrid PACS appliance as a central digital image management solution or dedicated mammography and cardiac imaging PACS solution.

New customers include A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital of Fulton, NY; Cuba Memorial Hospital of Cuba, NY; Redington-Fairview General Hospital of Skowhegan, ME; Virginia Mason Medical Center of Seattle, WA; and St. Francis Heart Center of Roslyn, NY.

Both A.L. Lee Memorial and Cuba Memorial hospitals will implement the ImageGrid PACS to function as a hospital-wide PACS. With the ability to route imaging studies to remote radiologists and physicians, the ImageGrid reportedly promotes better communication, coverage and patient care. In addition, the ImageGrid’s multimodality compatibility and scalability maximizes the hospital’s investment in digital imaging modalities by reducing operational and administration costs, according to the company.

For Virginia Mason Medical Center, the ImageGrid functions as a specialized PACS for its digital mammography modality. It provides the hospital with digital image management, advanced image viewing capabilities and a storage and archive.

Redington-Fairview General Hospital selected the ImageGrid PACS appliance to support its cardiac imaging modalities, including ultrasounds for echocardiography. The system offers the cardiac imaging department scalability benefits designed to meet future storage and archiving needs, and was created to accommodate Redington-Fairview’s current departmental and future hospital-wide image management needs.

St. Francis Heart Center is employing the ImageGrid PACS appliance to support its high- volume, 64-slice cardiac CT imaging. The system is purpose-built to cost- effectively manage, store and archive high-volume, high-resolution medical images, according to the company.

For hospitals and specialty imaging departments, Candelis’ ImageGrid PACS appliance provides compatibility with digital imaging modalities and volumetric imaging workstations. It is capable of streamlining workflow and increasing productivity with always- online access to images and data. The ImageGrid’s HL7 support also enables integration between the ImageGrid PACS appliance with customer’s existing RIS, HIS or EMR to optimize workflow and improve patient care.
