August 30, 2007 - The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recently announced that its second Virtual Conference and Expo is slated for Nov. 6 to Nov. 7, 2007.

The upcoming Virtual Conference and Expo will feature keynote speeches and educational seminars on electronic medical record adoption, interoperability, wireless technologies, clinical informatics and patient safety. Harvard Medical International's President and CEO Robert K. Crone, MD, and Senior Consultant John Helfrick, DDS, MS, FACD, FICD, will kick off the event with a keynote presentation on the fast-growing, lucrative medical tourism industry and how this new phenomenon impacts the delivery of healthcare in the United States and beyond.

The virtual exhibit hall will offer attendees access to leading healthcare IT tools and solutions, as well as the opportunity to speak, using instant messenger, with exhibitors. The virtual lounge allows users to interact via chat rooms and instant messenger. Attendees may connect with industry colleagues who share professional interests and expertise through a profile-matching tool.
