May 3, 2007 - NeuroLogica Corporation, a neuroscience-based medical imaging company, today announced that it will be provide its CereTom CT system as part of the emergency response team for the high-profile Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather, Jr. boxing match, set to happen at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV, on May 5.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission selected the eight-slice, cordless, CT Scanner for its easy portability and rapid scans, reportedly allowing for a full neurological scan in 30 seconds. The event’s medical staff will be equipped with a CereTom unit for the main event, and also for the Telefutura fights Friday, May 4, as well as all the under-card fights May 5. The Company is also providing a certified radiologist, an RT and a technical expert to support the scanning of any fighter who may incur a potential brain injury and require a scan on demand.
The CereTom, a compact system that weighs approximately 750 pounds, is designed for use in the ER, OR, ICU, MICU, SICU, NICU, interventional suite or medical clinics. The system's battery can be recharged in any standard wall outlet and, according to the manufacturer, holds enough power to image four to eight patients.
