April 26, 2007 - VISICU Inc., a healthcare information technology and clinical solutions company, has been named Innovator of the Year by the steering committee of the Innovation 2007 conference for chief executive officers.

The announcement was made during the seventh annual Innovation conference last week in Carlsbad California, which is hosted by McKinsey & Company, New England Healthcare Institute and Versant Ventures. The Innovation conference is an invitation-only forum of executive level peers exploring issues critical to healthcare services and healthcare information technology (HCIT) industry segments.

A panel of experts from McKinsey & Company, New England Healthcare Institute and Versant Ventures nominated three companies for the Innovation 2007 Steering Committee to vote on. VISICU was selected as winner by a Steering Committee made up of 12 industry-leading healthcare organizations consisting of prominent executives from companies such as Eli Lilly and Company, WellPoint Inc, Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, UCSF Medical Center, UnitedHealthcare and California Healthcare Foundation.

“VISICU is honored to receive this award from such a well-respected panel and proud of the impact that our unique eICU solution has on critical care,” said Frank T. Sample, Chairman and CEO of VISICU. “The fact that the award was just initiated this year and VISICU is the first winner acknowledges the success of our mission of improving patient outcomes.”
