Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. recently unveiled a new look and sound to MR imaging with the Visage MR, a receiver board with MRI-specific noise-reduction designed to improve signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) in MR images.
The high-bandwidth, 16-bit analog-to-digital receiver board has reportedly four times the resolution of current-generation MRI receivers. By combining high resolution with a high sampling rate, the decimation is extended to 24-bits of resolution, preserving more of the MRI signal to allow the visualization of more detailed images and, according to the manufacturer, at a faster speed.
