Toshiba Installs Two CT Systems for Severe Injury Evaluation

Toshiba America Medical Systems has recently installed two Aquilion 32-slice CT systems in the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The MED), TN. The systems will be used to evaluate the center’s most severely injured patients.
According to James Langston, M.D., clinical director of emergency radiology at The MED, the decision to install two 32-slice CT systems is in response to the community’s immense demand for trauma services - ranging from auto accidents to penetrating trauma. “Since its inception in 1983, our center has served more than 80,000 trauma patients from six states, so it is important that we have the latest technology to ensure that our patients receive the fastest and best care available. The systems’ speed and capabilities more than meets those needs.”
