Nuance’s new RadCube is a Web-based business intelligence tool designed for advanced clinical data mining, analysis and classification to drive trend identification and forecasting for better radiology and business decisions.
RadCube is a core component of Dictaphone’s end-to-end, closed-loop radiology management product portfolio, which includes a set of solutions built to significantly improve diagnostic imaging workflow and support the radiology practice from start to finish.
RadCube is an automated solution that works within the radiology operations environment to collect and structure data from computerized physician order entry (CPOE), radiology decision support (RadPort), speech reporting (PowerScribe and RadWhere for Radiology) and critical test result management (Veriphy) applications.
RadCube’s real-time, multifaceted approach to data structuring is a result of the merging of On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Web architecture technologies. Additionally, RadCube is powered by LEXIMER, a proprietary Natural Language Processing engine designed in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital specifically for the medical imaging domain. With LEXIMER, RadCube uses data mining algorithms to extract, structure and classify free-form, narrative dictation found within radiology reports. RadCube’s structured, encoded reports can be used for quality assurance, quality control and outcomes analysis for auditing such things as patient findings, provider recommendations and follow up, as well as diagnosis type.
