Medical Intelligence, part of the Elekta Group, will display the HexaPOD evo RT System, reportedly the next generation of robotic patient-positioning platforms, with six degrees of freedom.
The HexaPOD evo CouchTop reportedly incorporates all the well-known features of the precursor HexaPOD Couchtop, with greatly improved patient access and clearance aperture. Further, a reduction in height ensures convenient loading and unloading of the patient.
Accurate and remote geometric correction of any misalignment detected by the state of the art image guidance systems are enabled by HexaPOD evo, thereby closing the gap in the 6DOF (Degrees of Freedom) IMRT and IGRT guided SRT by simplifying corrections for rotational misalignment and changes in anatomy.
