Global Dosimetry Solutions Inc., a division of Mirion Technologies, will display its copper doped quartz fiber in vivo dosimeter that is designed to provide a real-time assessment of tissue exposure to radiation during radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic procedures, at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), July 22-26, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN.
The core technologies of this device were developed at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and include: a linear dose response from 1 to 1,000 monitor units, a uniform angular response and a diameter of 400 microns. The system can be sanitized by autoclaving and includes a thin size that allows for insertion through a catheter to targeted tumor.
