July 22, 201 — Viztek announced the release of the ViZion Digital Radiology (DR) solution for the mobile imaging market priced at less than $55,000. Viztek’s mobile offering includes a 14 x 17 inch cesium tethered panel and an integration kit for use with most portable/mobile X-ray units.

Viztek’s cesium technology offers mobile users significantly enhanced image quality and speed compared to available mobile computed radiology (CR) solutions. ViZion DR provides faster delivery of exams than CR as well as a smaller footprint. Its increased exam delivery speed supports higher throughput, potentially resulting in increased revenues. The higher rate of exams translates directly to being able to visit more facilities in a day, which can result in additional portage reimbursements.

ViZion transmits images instantly and securely over cellular or Wi-Fi connections, without the need for costly VPN devices.  Viztek’s mobile transmission software makes it easy to deliver prompt turnaround times for exam reading, while secure image encryption ensures HIPAA compliance.

The ViZion DR mobile solution is exceptionally compact and eliminates the need to accommodate a large CR and cassettes, in addition to the X-ray acquisition devices.  Viztek President Josip Cermin explained the increasing popularity of DR in the mobile market, stating, “As the prices for DR continue to drop, the technology is becoming a realistic solution for the mobile market. We are seeing a significant trend towards replacement of cumbersome CR units with lightweight portable DR units that offer better image quality.”
