Varian Licenses Cedara’s MergeCOM-3 DICOM Toolkit

August 28, 2007 - Cedara Software, a Merge Healthcare company and a medical imaging software and services company, announced that Varian Medical Systems has licensed the Cedara MergeCOM-3 DICOM Toolkit for use in their medical imaging applications, allowing Varian to accelerate the development of DICOM-compliant solutions cost effectively.
Widely used by OEMs, the MergeCOM-3 DICOM Toolkit is made for quickly implementing DICOM interfaces. This Software Development Kit or SDK reportedly provides simple, high-level abstraction of DICOM messaging details, and comprehensive sample applications provide a straightforward demonstration of programming concepts. For many medical imaging applications, slight customization of the sample applications is the only development required. Reportedly with minimal development effort, Toolkit users can stay current with the latest version of the DICOM standard.
