October 30, 2007 - Toshiba America Medical Systems announced that the company will replace its entire fleet of sedans for its sales and service teams with hybrid cars over the next three years, as part of Toshiba's global environmental initiative.

The company selected the Toyota Camry Hybrid to replace one-third of the current gas-only fleet each year. The first set of hybrid cars is scheduled to arrive in mid-to-late November 2007 and will be used by service and sales managers and account executives. With the addition of the Toyota Camry Hybrids, Toshiba expects to reduce fleet CO2 emissions by 25,000 pounds and save approximately $3,000 to $4,000 in fuel savings over the lifecycle of each vehicle.

Toshiba has set a global goal of reducing its energy-originated CO2 emissions by 25 percent by 2010 as well as non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent by 2010.
