October 2, 2015 —Sometimes, it is just simpler to use the cloud. Synergy Radiology recognized the high value, low risk of ScImage’s PICOM Cloud PACS to help expand the reach of their radiology reading service. The distributed reading performance, the massive scalability and the rapid report delivery clearly met Synergy’s expectations as they continue to expand their revenue sphere.

With more than 50 radiologists, Synergy is the largest private radiology practice in the Houston metropolitan area and services nine hospitals and several outpatient clinics.

Deploying the consolidated reading environment required little to no up-front investment in infrastructure or additional support.

Workflow is made easier by allowing contract sites to automatically push new imaging studies to the cloud, along with patient history documents, requisitions and technologists’ notes. Pending exams, while consolidated in one common worklist, are isolated by owner in the cloud. The radiologists simply opens the next unread exam, uses voice recognition technology for reporting and e-signs the report. The richly formatted report is returned to the point of care with automation, typically in less than seven minutes.
