SNM 2008 to Unveil New Research

May 28, 2008 - SNM’s 55th Annual Meeting, “Molecular Imaging: Build on the Past, Define the Future,” will be held June 14–18, 2008, in New Orleans, LA, unveiling new research in the molecular imaging, neurology, cardiology and oncology fields that may directly affect the future of patient care.

Topics of discussion include the use of PET, SPECT and other forms of imaging to detect and diagnose Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias; predict sudden cardiac death; view spinal cord injuries; advance the diagnosis of ovarian and prostate cancer and study post-menopausal women.

A press conference will be held Monday, June 16, from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., to discuss specific research topics. During the press conference, Dr. Henry Wagner, Johns Hopkins University, will reveal the highly anticipated “SNM Image of the Year.” Other portions of the annual meeting open to media include plenary sessions, categorical seminars, the exhibit hall and presentations of scientific papers and posters.
