Radiology Groups Seek Out Practice Management Solutions

May 20, 2010 - With radiologists under continual reimbursement pressure, momentum is building in the radiology the radiology billing and practice management solution (RMS) market.

To offer radiology-specific expertise in coding, compliance and operations, McKesson is consulting with four radiology practices on how to overcome operational and revenue challenges, while working to enhance overall financial performance.

Radiology Associates of Plymouth, located in Plymouth, Mass., chose RMS billing and coding to identify trends and understand factors influencing their revenue cycle. It is working to better track collections and maximize receivables.

Radiology Associates of Nevada, a multi-location practice, was faced with challenges reconciling charges and deposits.

SMH Radiology Associated PA, located in Sarasota, Fla., services one hospital and several outpatient care centers with 17 physicians and three mid-level providers. SMH Radiology is seeking to improve its financial performance by providing operational stability in the areas of charge capture, coding and reporting.

South Coast Radiological Medical Group, located in Laguna Hills, Calif., operates three locations in Orange County. South Coast is trying to gain greater insight into the ongoing state of its business and to help improve its revenue stream. McKesson is helping South Coast with its billing, financial services and managed care contracting.
