July 7, 2015 - The new American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Patient Experience will produce resources to help radiology professionals provide and document patient and family-centered care. Chaired by James V. Rawson, M.D., FACR, of Augusta, Georgia, the commission will also enhance relationships with patient advocacy groups to ensure that patients have a voice in future radiologic care.
Specifically, the new commission will:
- Develop recommendations on how radiology practices can enhance the experiences of patients and their families;
- Provide information regarding how best to measure radiology patient outcomes;
- Work with other ACR commissions to develop tools, metrics and policies that help members meet Merit-based Incentives Payment System and alternative payment model requirements; and
- Work closely with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Radiology Cares Campaign.
