August 13, 2010 - A needle guidance system was introduced for use with ultrasound platforms. SonoSite’s HFL50x transducer, coupled with the Civco Medical Solutions' Infiniti needle guidance system, is used in regional anesthesia imaging applications and shallow access biopsies to shorten procedure time and increase accuracy.
Together they offer a safe, reliable and efficient tool to increase clinical confidence in ultrasound-guided procedures.
The Infiniti Needle Guidance System utilizes a two-part system consisting of a custom reusable biopsy bracket and disposable snap-on needle guide with sterile Civ-Flex transducer cover.
The Infiniti needle guide offers multiple angle capabilities for shallow and deep access. The open channel design of the needle guide allows instruments to be positioned in the scan plane, providing a safe, efficient means for ultrasound-guided puncture procedures.
The needle guide attaches to the reusable bracket and accepts 14 and 18 gauge or 20, 21/22 and 25 gauge instruments. Replacement kits include needle guide, transducer cover, gel packet and colored elastic bands.
