May 22, 2008 - NEC Display Solutions of America released a 4MP, 30-inch MultiSync MD304MC widescreen display, designed exclusively for medical diagnostic professionals and is certified for radiology and emergency room environments.

The MD304MC includes a native resolution of 2560 x 1600 and features ColorComp, which reportedly reduces LCD uniformity errors and compensates for differences in color/grayscale and luminance, and advanced backlight technology. NEC’s patented X-Light Pro backlight system for DICOM GSDF conformance and self-correcting consistent brightness over the useful life of the monitor also are included.

The MD304MC incorporates in-plane switching (IPS) technology, delivering color reproduction and brightness uniformity by minimizing off-angle color shift. Grayscales are also reproduced with excellent definition by the IPS technology.

The MD304MC also includes GammaComp MD software, which is designed to ensure consistent image quality, and the coupon for a free GammaComp MD colorimeter gives users an extra level of performance verification. Working in conjunction with X-Light technology, the sensor also supports standalone calibration and exact monitor matching, while enhancing calibration and white-point matching for outstanding DICOM GSDF conformance. Optionally, GammaComp MD Administrator provides centralized control and management of multiple display systems.
