June 24, 2009 - NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) announced it acquired a wireless video technology that extends its current imaging capabilities in the operating room (OR) and beyond.

By integrating this new technology with its medical visualization and informatics platforms, the company plans to develop a compelling array of wireless solutions for surgical, endoscopy and interventional suites.

The new medical-grade ZeroWire product line will deliver a full HD image quality with assured interference immunity and security, using the patented technology acquired from TZero Technologies. Based upon open industry standards, ZeroWire products will be purpose built with ultra-low latency for real-time surgical video, providing the highest reliability and performance achievable for today’s multimodality imaging environments. With this acquisition, NDSsi also formed a wireless engineering team, creating the first dedicated wireless development capability in the medical visualization industry.
