September 29, 2010 – Wheatland Memorial Healthcare, Harlowton, Mont., is the latest critical access hospital to turn its Diagnostic Imaging Department into a state-of-the-art digital facility with new Web-based picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) technology.

The community hospital contracts with radiologists for reading. Prior to its acquisition of NovaPACS, it used a teleradiology service. Now, interpreting physicians have access study images through the PACS, which is helping to decrease report turnaround time.

NovaPACS is NovaRad’s turnkey PACS offering fast image retrieval, full-feature viewer with intuitive interface and 7-year on-site archive with off-site emergency backup. Full screen viewing, easy-to-use menus and mouse-based functions are available to help enhance efficiency. Referring physicians have complete access to images and reports from any computer.
