August 30, 2007 — Misys Healthcare Systems and iMedica jointly announced an agreement that promises to change the market dynamics and competitive landscape of healthcare IT.

Under terms of the agreement, Misys will license iMedica's innovative electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) solutions as the foundation for a new family of physician offerings focused on small-sized practices. Practices in this segment of ambulatory healthcare have been eager to more fully capitalize on all the benefits of healthcare IT.

Initial products will complement the existing Misys suite of solutions, including Misys VisionR, Misys TigerR, Misys EMRR and Misys PayerpathR. This approach is consistent with the previously stated Misys intent of focusing its activities on ambulatory solutions, software as a service, and extending offerings to ambulatory market segments which are currently underserved and have high growth potential. As part of this strategic agreement, iMedica will also act as a reseller of Misys' Payerpath revenue cycle and transaction management services to its existing and future customers.
