McKesson's Paragon Snags Best in KLAS Award

January 8, 2009 – McKesson’s Paragon healthcare information solution was among seven McKesson solutions to be rated No. 1 in their categories in the 2008 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards reports.

Three products – Paragon, Horizon Homecare and the combination of Pathways Financial Management and Pathways Materials Management – were repeat recipients of Best in KLAS awards for their categories.

McKesson’s Paragon garnered the top ranking in the community hospital information system (HIS) category for the third time. Built on a Microsoft platform, Paragon is an integrated clinical and financial information system that enables community hospitals to create a comprehensive electronic health record. Paragon’s advanced analytics and reporting capabilities support hospital executives and clinicians in making better-informed decisions. In the KLAS report, Paragon topped the “buy again” list for the community HIS category, with 86 percent of respondents saying they would buy the system again.

KLAS issues its annual rankings based on interviews with healthcare executives, professionals, and clinicians at more than 4,500 acute-care facilities, large clinics and integrated delivery networks.
