Latest Orthopaedic PACS, Visualization Table Featured at AAOS

February 7, 2011 – The latest version of an orthopaedic PACS and visualization table will be on display at the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) in San Diego, Calif. Sectra’s Orthopedic PACS, which features a pre-operative planning system, and its Visualization Table will be demonstrated Feb. 15-19.

The new pre-operative planning tool features that enable surgeons to improve surgical outcomes.

Synchronization-of-knee guides allow the surgeon to use the automatic synchronization functionality when planning a knee case in both AP and LAT view.

A new calibration unit for the hip, knee and shoulder has accurate templating of digital images can only be done on accurately calibrated images. The company has developed a calibration unit that can be used for all major joints.

The new Visualization Table features a multi-touch screen that enables multiple users to collaborate around the table and interact with the large-size 3-D images generated by MR and CT scanners. This solution for collaborative diagnostic work improves decision-making efficiency and allows physicians to set the care strategy in multi-trauma cases.
