Sept. 15, 2025 — GE HealthCare has launched the Voluson Performance series, the latest addition to its women’s health ultrasound portfolio. Designed to deliver detailed imaging and simplify workflow with artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools, the new Voluson Performance 18 and 16 offers clinicians modern, innovative technology to assist with efficient care across a wide range of applications.

The Voluson Performance series is tailored to support clinicians in efficiently acquiring detailed, high-quality images. Features such as Autolive make automatic gain adjustments for improved image uniformity and when combined with Shadow Reduction, aim to provide clear and consistent imaging across exams. Additionally, the ultrasound systems prioritize user experience and comfort with:
- A comprehensive probe portfolio that offers exceptional imaging in 2D and 3D and versatility, developed to meet the evolving needs of women’s health imaging.
- Integrated wireless Vscan Air probes supporting convenient bedside scanning and interventional use.
- An updated touch panel interface, which provides a seamless, intuitive workflow, and voice activated “Hey Voluson” feature for hands-free control, reducing keystrokes and streamlining exams.
With smart AI and automation tools built into the system, the Voluson Performance series is designed to simplify measurements, anatomy identification and reporting — helping save time, reduce user fatigue and support clinicians across experience levels.[ii] The SonoLyst suite of tools identify fetal anatomy seen on standard views and then automatically annotate and measure, where applicable, and with SonoLystlive images can be captured in real time. Clinicians can also reduce the keystrokes to complete routine International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISOUG) second trimester exam views by up to 65% with SonoLyst.[ii] In addition, features like SonoPelvicFloor use guided workflow and AI to help users achieve consistent, reproducible exam results up to 75% faster.
