Barco developed a new set of drivers for its Nio and Coronis product lines that are seamlessly compatible with Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system, reportedly enabling customers to upgrade to Vista without complications.

Barco’s new Vista-ready drivers will continue to support legacy operating systems as well. The Vista-compatible systems are immediately available for commercial distribution.

The Coronis Fusion 6MP DL, a 30-inch color LCD that can be used as two 3 MP heads or one wide-screen 6 MP display, offering radiologists to custom-organize their workspace.

Coronis Fusion 6MP DL is reportedly the first diagnostic system based on the latest, breakthrough In-Plane Switching (IPS-Pro) LCD technology. Compared to conventional LCD technologies, IPS-Pro sets new standards for brightness and contrast, even from a wide viewing angle, according to the company.

The NIO Color 3MP has a high-performance display controller that supports 3-D PACS applications with 30-bit color precision.

The LCD panel is protected from intensive use in clinical environments with an integrated protective front cover, which enables easy and safe cleaning. Moreover, its nonreflective coating will improve the diagnostic experience, while keeping reflections very low.

The PCI Express controller delivers impressive image download speeds, and the NIO Color 3MP is ready for the latest 3-D CT, MR and PET applications.
