November 21, 2021 — Einstein Healthcare Network, an innovative academic health system in Pennsylvania, announced it is expanding its partnership with Within Health to its entire radiology patient population. Within Health is the fastest growing care navigation automation company, using advanced technology to identify, engage and coordinate care for patients with unresolved follow-up recommendations. This partnership will enable Einstein Healthcare Network’s radiologists to focus on patient care, while reducing the administrative burden of managing follow-up scheduling. Einstein Healthcare Network services the Greater Philadelphia region conducting more than 400,000 imaging exams annually.

“It’s important to Einstein Healthcare Network to remain at the forefront of implementing groundbreaking technology to provide optimal care to our patients and the ideal environment for our radiologists and care teams to do their best work,” said Micah Cohen, M.D., associate chair of departmental quality and safety of radiology at Einstein Healthcare Network. “We are encouraged with our preliminary results which demonstrated improvement in follow-up adherence since implementing Within Health and how it has improved our patients’ lives and care team workflows. Within Health is a forward-thinking partner that is innovative and prioritizes developing long-term successful partnerships.”

Within Health creates operational efficiencies by automating the identification, tracking, and engagement of patients at-risk of a delayed or missed follow-up care. Within Health utilizes natural language processing, AI, and engagement algorithms to accurately identify recommendations and engage stakeholders to create positive behavior change. In addition, Within Health reduces administrative burden by automating workflows associated with follow-up. All of this is done without impacting the physician workflow.

“After our pilot study showed significant improvement in follow-up adherence for at-risk patients, we are planning to expand our project to include all radiology patients. It has been great to collaborate with Within Health as they are responsive and prioritize feedback,” said Ryan Lee, M.D., chair of radiology at Einstein Healthcare Network.

“Our partnership with Einstein Healthcare Network is a prime example of how forward thinking and innovative health systems are adopting AI and automation solutions to create better health outcomes, reduce administrative burden and burnout and provide a better experience for patients.” said Adam Kirell, co-founder and CEO of Within Health. “We’re excited to expand our partnership with the incredible team at Einstein Healthcare Network and look forward to continuing to grow the relationship into the future.”

Einstein Healthcare Network will be presenting the detailed results from the successful pilot program at the RSNA conference at McCormick Place in Chicago on Monday Nov. 29, at 12:30 p.m.
