CoActiv provides the EXAM-RT Archive, a digital viewing, archiving and retrieval platform for a full range of radiation therapy-related data, including CT images, cone beam images, CMS radiation therapy plans and DICOM-RT data files.

The new functionality supports all seven DICOM-RT extensions and for the first time enables digital storage in a single unified patient information file.

With CoActiv’s new EXAM-RT solution, RT facilities have a means of storing all their data in its native formats in a single comprehensive, redundant and HIPAA-compliant digital archive. Moreover, data can share the same archive and patient demographic information as a radiology PACS as well as other healthcare IT systems, minimizing system cost and support or maintenance expenses.

EXAM-RT can complement an existing EXAM-PACS installation or be implemented independently using dedicated archiving hardware. EXAM-RT already has been validated in cancer centers for IMPAC radiation oncology systems incorporating CT DICOM images, cone beam DICOM images and data, and complete DICOM-RT data object treatment plans. Sites utilizing the new CoActiv EXAM-RT solution also can take advantage of CoActiv’s innovative EXAM-VAULT QUAD-REDUNDANT ARCHIVING for storing RT data. EXAM-VAULT saves all information in four geographically distinct locations for superior disaster recovery and business continuity.

It typically is configured to archive recent images and data onsite for 12 to 24 months, enabling ultra-fast online accessibility. As data is stored onsite, it also is immediately transmitted to two advanced offsite CoActiv Tier-IV archiving centers where it is stored online on multi-terabyte RAID arrays. The advanced CoActiv managed archiving system shifts the burden of all maintenance to CoActiv experts and eliminates issues of technological obsolescence.
