June 24, 2010 – A redesigned needle guide is now available for GE Healthcare ultrasound transducers. CIVCO Medical Solutions has introduced a newly redesigned, disposable endocavity needle guide for GE Healthcare ultrasound transducers, including the E72, E721, E8C, E8C-RS, E8CS, IC5-9-D, IC5-9H, MTZ and MZ.
The single-piece design of this needle guide offers a low profile, smooth entry tip and an extended locating feature to reinforce stability, providing secure position of the guide during procedures. The disposable design of the guide reduces the risks associated with cross-contamination and eliminates costly reprocessing concerns. The guide accepts 16- to 18-gauge instruments, and select kits include sterile gel packet, transducer cover and colored elastic bands. Anticipated applications include women’s health and prostate biopsy.
