December 22, 2009 – Central Kentucky Radiology in Lexington, Ky. recently purchased AMICAS Financials to streamline its radiology billing, and AMICAS RIS (radiology information system) to gain practice management efficiencies.
The 40-year-old, 24-radiologist practice provides interpretation services for 14 hospitals and four imaging centers. It provides mammography, X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET, and interventional radiology services.
“Our radiology group knew we needed a new billing solution that would streamline all of our billing processes and eliminate unnecessary costs,” said Bob Schmidt, CEO of Central Kentucky Radiology. “We believe that the sophisticated capabilities of the AMICAS solution will improve our revenue while reducing our operating costs, such that we expect to realize a positive return on investment within 24 months.”
