February 16, 2012 — Carestream has expanded its Carestream Vue for cloud services with mobile imaging data access from its Vue Motion zero footprint viewer and higher levels of encryption and security through use of the Intel Xeon processor E7 family. These enhancements were demonstrated at the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference this week.
The company also showed, as a work-in-progress, a cloud-based patient portal that will allow patients to access, view and share their own medical imaging data with physicians, specialists and other healthcare facilities. When available, this patient portal can integrate with a facility’s electronic health record (EHR)/electrionic medical record (EMR).
Carestream’s Vue portfolio of cloud services enables radiologists and clinicians to access patient data, imaging exams and radiology reports quickly and easily from any location. A portal for data access by referring physicians will be available by the end of March 2012.
