October 17, 2008 - AMICAS is unveiling Version 6.0, the next generation of AMICAS PACS, at RSNA 2008. This release includes an enhanced viewing environment composed of the new patient profile and a brand new image viewer, both of which complement the existing industry-leading RealTime Worklist.

To add to the existing RealTime Worklist, AMICAS PACS provides the new Patient Record and the new Halo Viewer. For the radiologist, the patient profile provides a comprehensive view into their patients’ imaging history – complete with a snapshot of prior exams, current and prior orders, reports, and key clinical documents. Essential to patient-centric reading, the patient profile equips the radiologist with all the information they need to interpret a patient’s current exams – and within a single centralized view.

The new image viewer builds on AMICAS’ quick, easy-to-use, Web-based viewer that radiologists and clinicians have used for years. The key enhancements to the new viewer involve intrinsic 3D functionality, advanced tools for mammography workflow, and deep personalization of the viewing tools.

With intrinsic 3D, radiologists and clinicians have access to a blended 2D and 3D view – whether that’s basic MPR or advanced 3D volume visualization – all within a unified viewer. Advanced mammography workflow tools enable the radiologist to quickly and efficiently interpret mammography exams within the same viewer that they use for interpreting other types of exams, such as CR, CT, MRI, and US.
