January 6, 2010 - In a deal 19 million euros, plus an additional earn-out of 10 million euros over the next five years, the medical visual display company Barco completed its acquisition of FIMI, a fully owned subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics' Healthcare business, on 31 December 2009.
A provider of dedicated modality monitors, patient monitoring and mobile point of care devices based in Saronno, Northern Italy, FIMI's portfolio will expand Barco's current display offering. The FIMI line includes product line, Ultrasound, X-ray, MR, CT, surgery, PACS, and mobile point-of-care as well as solutions for the integrated OR. The acquisition of FIMI will also add new sales lines to Barco in the medical display market.
