Viatronix Inc. announced its dedicated CT Colonography (CTC) software V3D-Colon was exclusively used in another important clinical study relating to colorectal cancer screening. The latest CTC study, "Assessment of volumetric growth rates of small colorectal polyps with CT colonography: a longitudinal study of natural history" (Lancet Oncology) tracked polyp growth in 243 patients over an eight year period.

July 23, 2012 — Viatronix Incorp. announced that the stage finally appears set for a reversal of the May 2009 non-coverage decision for screening CT Colongraphy (CTC) by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The latest CTC study, "CT Colonography of a Medicare-Aged Population: Outcomes Observed in an Analysis of More Than 1,400 Patients" (American Journal of Roentgenology, AJR2012; 199:W27-W34), provides good evidence that CT Colonography is an effective screening tool for colorectal cancer in the Medicare-aged population. The lack of Medicare-age specific data on CTC was the primary reason given for CMS' non-coverage decision.

May 29. 2012 — Viatronix Inc., developer of 2-D/3-D medical imaging and diagnostic software, announced that its V3D-Colon platform was exclusively used to perform a key study recently published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of a laxative-free bowel prep for patients undergoing a virtual colonoscopy (VC) screening exam. The trial utilized a modified version of the Viatronix V3D-Colon software.
