2012 Annual Best in KLAS Software Awards Released

The opinions of thousands of healthcare providers help to expand the dominance of some vendors, while helping others surge in rank

December 14, 2012 — KLAS has released the 2012 Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Services report ranking the best performing healthcare IT vendors in just under 100 market segments. This year, nearly 20,000 provider interviews led to a mix of newly crowned and repeat Best in KLAS winners.

“Providers recognize the critical nature that vendors play in improving healthcare delivery,” says Adam Gale, KLAS president. “Thus, a growing number of providers are weighing in on vendor performance. It speaks volumes that providers want to be heard and be counted. And vendors are listening.”

Some highlights from this year include:

  • Epic sweeps eight Best in KLAS award categories and is named the No. 1 Overall Software Vendor, No. 1 Overall Software Suite Vendor and No. 1 Overall Physician Practice Vendor.
  • athenahealth receives second-most Best in KLAS wins.

Due to changes in the market space, Pharmacy and Pharmacy (Community) market segments have been combined into one category.
