Extends image capture across the healthcare enterprise by enabling providers to acquire medical video and still images anytime, anywhere.

CaptureWare Video for iPhone/iPod Now Available from Altamont Software

Oct. 27, 2026 — Altamont Software recently announced that CaptureWare Video, its enterprise medical video capture solution, is now available on iPhone and iPad for capturing medical video and still images at the bedside, in the clinic, and at any other point-of-care location.

Since its introduction, CaptureWare Video has enabled healthcare providers to easily integrate scopes from every department across the enterprise. It captures, identifies and forwards this valuable clinical information directly to existing PACS, EHR and VNA systems. Extending the application to iOS devices expands its reach, enabling providers to capture video and images directly and securely from any clinical location using an iPad or iPhone camera. A mobile device also can be connected to any scope, eliminating the need for a desktop computer or costly video connection box.

"This announcement upholds our commitment to provide healthcare organizations with a single Connectivity Platform for capturing any type of image or video from any source and incorporating it into the EMR," said Chris Barnett, President and Co-Founder of Altamont Software. "Bringing CaptureWare Video to mobile devices gives providers the flexibility to capture video and still images wherever care is delivered."

With CaptureWare Video on the iPhone and iPad, healthcare organizations can:

  • Capture medical video and still images using a smartphone or tablet.

  • Use a low-cost USB capture card to connect an iPad/iPhone to any scope.

  • Upload clinical images and video to PACS, VNA and the EMR.

  • Integrate medical video directly into Epic Lumens.

CaptureWare Video on mobile devices extends the enterprise benefits that have defined the solution since its launch:

  • Expands the capabilities of existing enterprise imaging IT infrastructure.

  • Eliminates scope vendor-specific PACS silos.

  • Based on cost-effective enterprise licensing.

  • Further reduces the need for costly video boxes.

CaptureWare Video is built on Altamont Software's Connectivity Platform, which also supports DICOM SR integration, eForms, and document capture.
