Oct. 12, 2016 — NYU Langone Radiology—Upper West Side has opened a new 28,000-square-foot imaging facility in New York City.  The new facility offers advanced imaging technologies to support a broad range of clinical needs, including breast, neurological, cardiovascular and cancer care.

“This new location advances our mission to deliver the best imaging care in the world to patients right in their own neighborhood,” said Oren Cahlon, MD, executive vice president, vice dean for clinical affairs and strategy, and chief clinical officer at NYU Langone Health. “By bringing together cutting-edge technology with a team of leading radiologists under one roof on the Upper West Side, we can detect disease earlier, plan treatments more precisely, and improve lives.”

Imaging Technology

The center offers cutting-edge technology, including integrated PET/MR, which helps identify dementia, neurodegenerative diseases, and certain cancers. The site also offers advanced cardiac CT for noninvasive assessment of the heart and blood vessels and 3D mammography enhanced by validated artificial intelligence tools that support the early detection of breast cancer, as well as a full range of other imaging services.

All results are interpreted by subspecialty-trained radiologists with deep proficiency in their areas of practice.

“Our goal is to provide patients with the highest level of diagnostic expertise and technology,” said Michael P. Recht, MD, chair of the Department of Radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. “Earlier and more accurate diagnosis helps guide timely, personalized treatment decisions and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”

Patients are seamlessly connected to NYU Langone’s electronic health record system across locations and can access all their health information, as well as schedule appointments, through the NYU Langone Health app or the NYU Langone Health MyChart patient portal.
