MRI simulation software leader ScanLabMR announced the release of UltraLab

January 15, 2024 — MRI simulation software leader ScanLabMR announced the release of UltraLab, a breakthrough software feature that combines two previously separated concepts: image contrast and spatial resolution, into one interface. The UltraLab interface also brings together radiofrequency (RF) and scan time elements within Gradient Echo, Spin Echo and Fast Spin echo pulse sequences.

For ScanLabMR’s educational partners and clients, UltraLab provides an enhanced user experience that will help students master important MRI concepts and improve the quality of MRI education.

In addition, with UltraLab, users can select their preferred MRI vendor, which will prompt the interface to assume the parameter terminology and behavior specific to that vendor. UltraLab also offers users the option of choosing a desired voxel size and field strength, so images can be generated based on the chosen spatial resolution as well as the T1 recovery time differences of their field strength selection.

Currently, many students and MRI operators are unclear on how various parameters impact their images. Now, with the UltraLab interface, users can select from SNR, Time, Spatial Resolution, and RF checkboxes, so it’s easy to visualize and understand how parameters affect each one.

These industry-first features represent a significant step forward in breaking down the stigma associated with parameter manipulation in MRI and across various MRI vendors and field strengths.

“UltraLab is a major enhancement to the ScanLabMR software and comes from almost one-and-a-half years of careful research and product development,” said Matthew Hayes, President and Creator of ScanLabMR. “It’s a game-changing development in MRI education, and we look forward to seeing how our clients benefit from its release.”
