Advances provide significantly faster image loading and DICOM importing

AHRA: The Association for Medical Imaging Management is pleased to announce the results of its online election for its Board of Directors

June 1, 2023 — aycan, a recognized worldwide leader in medical imaging, released aycan workstation 4.0 earlier this month. This latest version, which now natively supports the Apple Silicon Platform, provides 6x faster image loading times than the prior version, and DICOM importing via the workstation’s ayMediaImporter plugin is now 2x faster.

“With higher resolutions and smaller layer thicknesses, medical imaging exams are getting bigger and bigger,” said Frank Burkhardt, aycan Director, North & Latin American Operations. “This big data increases demand on processing software and slows the workflow, which this latest version of aycan workstation addresses, providing a real speed boost.”

aycan workstation Version 4.0 is certified under the new European MDR (Medical Device Regulation). A demo video and more information about Version 4.00 may be found on the company’s website.

aycan workstation is an FDA 510(k) cleared, vendor-neutral, highly functional advanced image-processing tool and DICOM PACS workstation for conventional, multi-slice, and other image reading with clinical and workflow plugins that further enhance its capabilities.
