August 25, 2022 — Bronx doctor and chair of the department of radiology at Montefiore Health System and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Judy Yee, MD, FSAR, has been awarded a gold medal from the Society of Abdominal Radiology, the organization’s highest honor. The society named only three gold medalists this year, including Yee.

A Bronx High School of Science graduate who received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yee is a nationally recognized leader in radiology, according to a spokesperson from Montefiore. She serves as a board member of both the Society of Chairs in Academic Radiology Departments (SCARD) and the Association of University Radiologists (AUR), and was previously the president of the Society of Abdominal Radiology from 2015-2016.

“Dr. Yee is a tireless advocate for the role of radiology in colorectal cancer screening, and has led the successful effort to recognize CT colonography (CTC) as a recommended test by the United States Preventative Services Task Force,” the Montefiore spokesperson added. “She is frequently cited as one of the field’s most outstanding mentors, especially for women leaders in imaging.”
